Since 1984 our law firm has resolved more than 25,000 cases. The cases listed below are a few of the significant settlements that we have recovered for our clients.

Resolved Personal Injury Cases

Confidential Settlement Airline Crash. This case involved injuries to a 65-year-old lady and her 66-year-old husband injured in an airplane crash. Half of the people on the plane, including their two best friends, were killed in the crash. The injured man suffered a herniated disc in the low back and his wife suffered emotional trauma from the accident, though she had no physical injuries. The case was settled prior to filing of a lawsuit and pursuant to a non-disclosure agreement.

$125,000.00 Auto Accident, Broward County. 21-year-old woman was rearended. She received treatment at the hospital with a chiropractor and underwent MRIs. The MRI of the neck showed herniated discs as did the lumbar MRI. Surgery was performed in the injured discs and the case resolved thereafter with the insurance company without a lawsuit.

$100,000.00 Motorcycle Accident, Broward County. The defendant violated the right-of-way and struck this motorcyclist. There was a fracture of the right foot and an injury to the knee. Surgery on the knee was performed and the case settled for policy limits without the necessity of a lawsuit.

$460,000.00 Automobile Accident, Broward County. A 39-year-old male was sideswiped by a landscape truck in a road rage incident and the driver’s door was torn off. MRI of the low back showed disc herniations. A disc replacement and fusion was done at two separate levels. The injured worker subsequently passed away as a result of an overdose of Methadone while treating for chronic pain management. The Medical Examiner ruled the death a suicide. A lawsuit was filed, an Estate was opened, various liens were litigated, and settlement was eventually obtained.

$125,000.00 Auto Accident, West Palm Beach. A 59-year-old female was struck by a vehicle while driving. She underwent knee and back surgery and the case settled for policy limits without the filing of a lawsuit.

$434,000.00 Automobile Accident, West Palm Beach verdict. A 38-year-old female and her minor daughter were rearended in what appeared to be a minor fender bender causing only $800.00 in property damage. It was, in fact, a more serious injury. The client developed back pain and her injury necessitated back surgery where she missed several weeks of work. Suit was filed and the case was tried to verdict. The defense appealed and the case settled for a lesser amount once the appeal was filed.

Resolved Workers’ Compensation Cases

$900,000.00 Work Related Accident, Broward County. 35-year-old claimant who fell from off of a scaffold and injured his lower back, his heels and his leg and had nine surgeries received over $600,000.00 in benefits during the pendency of the case. At the conclusion, there was an additional $296,000.00 settlement, bringing the total payout in the claim to nearly $900,000.00.

$315,000.00 Work Related Accident, Palm Beach County. Individual who suffered a lumbar herniated disc, as well as a rigid shoulder, when he fell while working as a Longshoreman received a $315,000.00 settlement.

$3,200,000.00 Work Related Accident, Broward County. Undocumented worker who had suffered a catastrophic injury, which rendered him a quadriplegic, received a $3,200,000.00 settlement.

$1,100,000.00 Work Related Accident, Martin County. An undocumented worker involved in a rollover motor vehicle accident while returning from work received over $600,000.00 in benefits during the pendency of the case. At the conclusion, he received an additional $1,100,000.00 settlement.

$425,000.00 Work Related Accident, Broward County. An individual who underwent two back surgeries as a result of a two-level disc herniation suffered in a motor vehicle accident while engaged in transporting prisoners received approximately $200,000.00 in benefits during the pendency of the litigation plus an additional $225,000.00 settlement at the conclusion of the case.

$320,000.00 Work Related Accident, Broward County. A claimant who suffered a left hemispheric stroke while at work received over $100,000.00 in benefits during the pendency of the litigation. At the conclusion of his case, he received an additional $220,000.00 settlement.

$150,000.00 Work Related Accident Miami-Dade County. An individual with a pre-existing cervical injury aggravated his cervical condition as a result of a trip and fall while working on a barge as a Longshoreman. Claimant never had surgery and only received conservative treatment through physical therapy and medication. At the conclusion of the litigation, the claimant received a $150,000.00 settlement.

$900,000.00 work related accident, Miami-Dade County. 50-year-old claimant who fell from a scaffold and injured his lower back, his heels and his legs had nine (9) surgeries. During the pendency of this case, claimant was able to receive over $600,000.00 in benefits. At the conclusion, there was an additional $296,000.00 settlement, bringing the total payout in the claim to nearly $900,000.00.

$5,000,000.00 work related accident, Broward County. 25-year-old undocumented worker who suffered a catastrophic injury when he fell off a rooftop. The compensability of this claim was denied by all insurance companies. After extensive litigation with numerous insurance companies and contractors, this firm was able to successfully obtain a $3,200,000.00 settlement, which would pay the claimant in excess of over $5,000,000.00 over his lifetime.

$1,700,000.00 auto accident and work related, Palm Beach County. 22-year-old undocumented worker involved in a rollover motor vehicle accident while returning from work. As a result of this rollover motor vehicle accident, the claimant was left as a paraplegic. During the pendency of the litigation, this firm successfully received over $600,000.00 in benefits for the claimant. Additionally, at the conclusion of the case, claimant received a $1,100,000.00 settlement, thereby bringing the total value of benefits the claimant received to in excess of $1,700,000.00.

$3,500,000.00 work related accident, Broward County. 21-year-old undocumented worker involved in a workers’ compensation accident when he fell off of a roof. As a result of this accident, the claimant was rendered a quadriplegic. During the pendency of this case, this firm successfully obtained for this claimant benefits valued in excess of $400,000.00. At the conclusion of the case, this firm received for the worker an additional $3,100,000.00, thereby bringing the total value of the case to $3,500,000.00.

$500,000.00 auto accident, work related, Broward County. Broward County Sheriff’s deputy injured in a motor vehicle accident. As a result of this injury, claimant suffered two herniated discs to his lower back which required lumbar surgery. During the pendency of this litigation, the claimant received in excess of $300,000.00 worth of benefits. At the conclusion of litigation of the file, this firm obtained an additional $225,000.00 settlement for the claimant. The total value of the benefits claimant received as a result of this case exceeded $500,000.00.

$300,000.00 work related accident, Broward County. Broward County Sheriff’s deputy suffered a left hemispheric stroke while at work. During the pendency of his case, the claimant received in excess of $75,000.00 in benefits. At the conclusion of the case, this firm received an additional $225,000.00 settlement for the claimant, thereby bringing the total value of benefits the claimant received to $300,000.00.

Resolved Longshore and Defense Base Act Cases

$550,000.00 work related accident, Palm Beach County. 46-year-old Longshoreman who suffered a herniated disc as well as an injured shoulder when he fell at work. The claimant received a $315,000.00 settlement, which in addition to the $200,000.00 he received during the pendency of the case created over a $500,000.00 total award.

$500,000.00 and continuing disability checks We filed a claim for permanent total disability for a 49 year old longshoreman who sustained multiple injuries. The case was won at trial and the past benefits of over $150,000.00 were paid but the carrier appealed the order of disability. While on the second level of appeal, the carrier settled the fees and costs for $115,000.00. The injured worker continues to receive disability benefits and has received over $500,000.00 in past compensation.

$250,000.00 Longshoreman - work related accident, Palm Beach County. 56-year-old Longshoreman, with previous history of cervical and lumbar injuries, aggravated his spinal injuries as a result of a trip and fall while working on a barge. The claimant never had surgery and received only conservative treatment through physical therapy and medication. During the pendency of the litigation, the claimant received in excess of $100,000.00 worth of benefits. At the conclusion of the claimant, this firm secured a settlement for the claimant of an additional $150,000.00, thereby bringing the value of the benefits paid to over $250,000.00.

$175,000.00 Longshoreman - work related accident Hard working 75 year old male worker with a low back injury received a settlement of $175,000.00. We filed a claim for permanent total disability for a 49 year old longshoreman who sustained multiple injuries. The case was won at trial and the past benefits paid but the carrier appealed the order of disability. While on the second level of appeal, the carrier settled the fees and costs for $115,000.00. $150,000.00 Longshoreman - work related accident A settlement of $150,000.00 was secured for a 51 year old worker with a low back injury.

$140,000.00 Longshoreman - work related accident A 40 year old worker with a neck injury received a $140,000.00 settlement and was retrained for lighter work.
