Stat. 440.205 states:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;padding-left: 30px\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">440.205 Coercion of Employees<\/span>.\u00a0 No employer shall discharge, threaten to discharge, intimidate, or coerce any employee by reason of such employee&#8217;s valid claim for compensation or attempt to claim compensation under the Worker&#8217;s Compensation Law.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joannhoffman.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/IMG_1772-e1445375239450-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-249 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.joannhoffman.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/IMG_1772-e1445375239450-1-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_1772\" width=\"132\" height=\"176\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.joannhoffman.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/IMG_1772-e1445375239450-1-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/www.joannhoffman.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/IMG_1772-e1445375239450-1-90x120.jpg 90w, https:\/\/www.joannhoffman.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/IMG_1772-e1445375239450-1.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 132px) 100vw, 132px\" \/><\/a>A cause of action can be\u00a0filed in the Florida Circuit Court based on\u00a0the case of <em>Smith v.
